I’d like to apologize and thank you for your continued patience if you have experienced any issues with the boat ramp gate. We have had several complaints from boaters being unable to access the boat ramp. This is a new system, with new software and there has been a learning curve. We are doing our best to get all the kinks worked out, and Jeff McClung is our volunteer working diligently in doing so.
Aside from the issues with upgraded gate system software, we have noticed several common non-software issues causing problems with gates access. Please check to see if any of the following apply to your situation:
- Did you renew your BPIC membership for 2019? The membership year runs from January 1stto December 31st – consequently, if you renewed last summer, your membership needs to be renewed for 2019.
- If your 2019 membership is valid, did you request boat ramp privileges and pay the additional fee? (Boat ramp privileges are not included in the basic $20 annual membership fee).
- Is the battery in your gate remote working (they generally need to be replaced every year).
